MelanatED Leaders

MelanatED Leaders builds a powerful community of education leaders of color across Indianapolis to inspire, educate, and edify each other for students of color.

Our vision is that every school or entity that supports students of color is led by a leader of color at every level.

In Indianapolis, the entire education sector is excited about reform moves that promise to provide a more equitable education experience for children of color. A portion of that reform includes work around diversity, equity, and inclusion and investing in leaders of color.

With the efforts listed above, one would assume that leaders of color thrive in Indianapolis. However, communities of color lose school leaders of color at an alarming rate.

Imagine if we provided a powerful network of leaders who were built to educate each other and hold each other accountable for children.
