The Power of Connection: My Candor Consultancies Experience
By: Kimberly Ransom
Participating in the Candor Consultancies Program was a meaningful opportunity to reflect, collaborate, and grow alongside other education leaders.
One of the things I value about consulting is the opportunity to support organizations as they work through complex challenges. At the same time, consulting can sometimes be isolating. We spend so much time supporting others that we do not always have dedicated spaces to collaborate with peers, talk through our own challenges, and learn from other leaders.
The Candor Consultancies Program provided that space.
Through facilitated consultancy sessions, leadership reflection, strategic coaching, and candid conversations, I had the opportunity to engage with other educators and leaders who brought different experiences and perspectives to the table. I especially appreciated having a supportive community where we could discuss real-time leadership challenges, ask questions, exchange ideas, and help one another think differently about our work.
The experience reinforced something I believe strongly: leaders need opportunities to be supported, too.
I’m grateful to MelanatED Leaders for creating an intentional space for connection, reflection, candor, and growth. I walked away reminded that even when our roles and organizations are different, we can learn a great deal from one another—and we are stronger leaders when we have a community with whom we can grow.
